6.11 The e-PREP Scheme - Upgrade with e-PREP<br />
The e-PREP (Electronic Preparatory) Scheme for the Full-time Police National<br />
Servicemen (PNSFs) was implemented to help PNSFs transit from full-time NS to<br />
further their studies by providing online preparatory and refresher courses for PNSFs.<br />
Under the scheme, all eligible PNSFs will be able to participate in e-PREP during<br />
their last 12 months of service. Each PNSF will be given an e-PREP subsidy of $350<br />
to offset up to 90% of the course fees. The remaining 10% of the course fees will<br />
be borne by the PNSF. Any unused credits will be rolled over for use within one<br />
year of ORD.<br />
With e-PREP, PNSFs will be eligible to subscribe to over 4,000 courses offered by<br />
the participating local institutions of higher learning and e-learning providers such<br />
as Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Polytechnic, Institute of Technical<br />
Education, Auratech, etc. Example of courses offered are Academic Refresher<br />
Courses, Professional Certifi cation and Vocational Courses and Soft Skills Courses.<br />
Furthermore, you will receive a “Certifi cate of Completion” from the course<br />
provider once you have successfully completed a course.<br />
We strongly encourage you to take up suitable and relevant courses to upgrade<br />
your skills and knowledge. You can access and complete these e-courses at your<br />
own free time using your PC at home as all courses are delivered through the<br />
internet.<br />
For more information on e-PREP, you may access the e-PREP website through NS<br />
Portal. Please ensure that you have a NS Portal ID/ Singpass as you will need to log<br />
in to access e-PREP. Alternatively, you may also wish to approach your divisional<br />
PPO for assistance.<br />
