This evening weenjoy our first delicious dinner onboard.MONTE CARLO, MONACO. We enjoy afull day in Monaco’s legendary capital,which is more than just a playground forEurope’s royalty and wealthy. Monte Carlois also an alluring mix of boutiques,gardens, wonderful views and a harbourthat hosts the yachts of the rich andfamous. If you enoy a wager, Monte Carlohas the best casino in Europe.LIVORNO, ITALY (for FLORENCE andPISA). The ship docks at Livorno, andfrom here you may join an optionalexcursion to Pisa and its extraordinaryleaning tower, and/or the beautiful city ofFlorence, where every square, church andancient building can be viewed as a workof art. To see Michelangelo’s “David”, go toPiazza Della Square.NAPLES, ITALY (for CAPRI andPOMPEII). Be on deck as we approachNaples for the breathtaking views of thecity and Mount Vesuvius. Strolling here isa delight or you may want to visit nearbyPompeii, the once great city destroyedwhen Vesuvius erupted in 79AD. Otherexcursions will be offered to Sorrento andthe Isle of Capri, once the vacationdestination for Roman Emperors.AT SEA. A welcome day at sea to relaxand enjoy shipboard activities.SANTORINI, GREECE. This spectacularisland is the site of the biggest volcanoeruption in history and is now known for itswhite-washed buildings clinging to thecliffs. Visit the ancient ruins of Akrotiri tolearn more of her history and later shop inthe town of Fira.ATHENS, GREECE. We dock at Piraeus,a bustling and picturesque port town inwhich to wander and shop. If you take theoptional tour to Athens, you will see themost famous archaeological site in theworld - the hill of the Acropolis, which isdominated by the Parthenon - the sacredtemple of Athena.DAY 9 MYKONOS, GREECE. This small Greekisland is picture-postcard beautiful with itsfamous windmills, cobblestone streets andwhite-washed facades. The ancientarchaeological site of Delos is on anadjacent island.DAY 10 KATAKOLON, GREECE (for OLYMPIA).This ancient Peloponnesian destinationwas host to the original Olympic Games. Itis also known as home to the Pediments ofthe Temple of Zeus as well as the famousstatue of Hermes by Praxiteles,considered by many to be the foremostsculptor of all time.DAY 11 CORFU, GREECE. In Corfu you maywant to stroll the gardens of AchilleionPalace, see the silver coffin of St. Spyridon(the island's patron saint) or simply explorethe city's Venetian architecture.DAY 12 SPLIT, CROATIA. We arrive in Split,perhaps the most beautiful port on theAdriatic Sea. Split is both Croatia's secondlargest city and its cultural capital. The citywas developed more than 1700 years agoaround the ancient palace of the RomanEmperor Diocletian. Enjoy strolling in thepedestrian Old Town of this historic andpicturesque Dalmatian jewel.DAY 13 VENICE, ITALY. Venice is built on 118islands, criss-crossed by 160 canals andlinked by 400 foot bridges. There are noroads, only canals, and no traffic except forwater taxis and gondolas. Our shipovernights here so there is time to absorbthe city's unusual sights, sounds andunique Byzantine atmosphere.DAY 14 VENICE. We disembark our ship in Veniceand begin our city sightseeing tour. We willsee St. Mark’s Square, Bridge of Sighs,Doge’s Palace and much more. There willbe time at leisure in the afternoon forexploring on your own. This evening weenjoy our Farewell Dinner at the hotelDAY 15 HOME. We fly home from via Paris.45.
