5 Admissions <strong>Self</strong>-<strong>Service</strong>Setting Up Admissions <strong>Self</strong>-<strong>Service</strong>6. Establish dates for the creation and receipt of <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Self</strong>-<strong>Service</strong>applications.(a)Define calendars for the application types that have different scheduleson the Web Application Term Calendar Rules Form (SAAWATR). Oncethis form is used for an application type, it must always be used. This formallows the institution to define the dates when applications of each typecan be created and subsequently viewed on the Web.This form works in conjunction with the Web Application Term DisplayControl Form (SOAATRM), where the calendar for all applications canbe defined. If no rules exist on SAAWATR for an application type, thenthe rules defined on SOAATRM take effect.(b)(c)Define the date ranges during which you will receive applications for aterm. The Web Application Term Display Control Form (SOAATRM) isused to specify these time periods.Control the calendar of applications in the <strong>Banner</strong> production tablesusing the Web Admissions Term Calendar Rules Form (SAAWAAD). Thiscalendar determines by term, level, campus, college, and admit type whenan application can be viewed (regardless of its source), when the statuscan be viewed, and when the most recent decision can be viewed on theWeb.The Priority field is used to create a unique key for each calendar rule. Itmay be necessary to have multiple records for one level and term that startand end on the same date, in order to exclude specific admit types frombeing displayed on the Web. The Priority field can be used to make eachrecord unique.7. Customize Web pull-down lists.(a)(b)(c)Define codes, by application type, on the Web Application CustomizedLists Form (SAAWADP) which should be displayed in the Web pull-downsfor test codes, requested materials, interests, and credit card waiverreasons. If no codes are defined here, the values in the pull-down lists aretaken from the appropriate Web-enabled rows on SOAXREF. If no codesare defined on SOAXREF, the values are taken from the appropriatevalidation table.Identify curricula, by application type, on the Web ApplicationCustomized Curriculum Form (SAAWCUR) that you want to appear inthe Plan pull-down list.When you are first setting up Admissions <strong>Self</strong>-<strong>Service</strong>, enter SAAWCURwith the Restricted checkbox in the Key Block unchecked. Allappropriate curriculum rules will be displayed. Check the Restrict to Typecheckbox for those curriculum items which you want to be available forthis application type.
