8COCHISE COLLEGE FALL 2009 SCHEDULE OF CLASSESChanges in ClassesCochise College reserves the right to eliminate, cancel, phase out, or reduce in size coursesand/or programs for financial, curricular, or programmatic reasons. The college also reservesthe right to make changes without notice in fees, faculty assignments, time schedules, courses,curricula, and policies; to cancel classes when necessary; to set maximum and minimumlimits for enrollment in certain classes; and to make changes to other matters contained inthis schedule.RESIDENCY INFORMATIONProp. 300/Tuition AssessmentCochise College has revised its registration procedure for credit classes to comply withrequirements of Proposition 300 (Prop. 300). Approved by Arizona voters in November 2006,Prop. 300 requires verification of eligibility for in-state tuition rates for U.S. citizens and qualifyinglegal immigrants.Students will need to complete the new tuition assessment process only once. The processapplies to students registering for any class after spring session 2007.It is important to know that the new law does not prevent anyone from enrolling atCochise College. However, the law does require that students who are not citizens or legal residentspay out-of-state tuition rates.The law further states that persons who are not citizens or legal residents are not entitledto tuition waivers, fee waivers, grants, scholarship assistance, financial aid, tuition assistance,or any type of financial assistance that is subsidized with state monies.A printable Tuition Assessment Form, instructions for completing the form, and a list ofqualifying documents to verify eligibility for in-state tuition are available online.Go to www.cochise.edu and search for Prop. 300.Documentation can be returned to any of the college’s Admissions and RegistrationOffices. All faxed documentation should be sent to the attention of the registrar at (520)515-5452, and e-mails can be sent to: admissions@cochise.edu or registration@cochise.eduYou can check your student verification for Prop. 300 on the Cochise College Web siteusing the following directions:• Go to www.cochise.edu and click on My CC Account.• Click on the secure area and log in your personal information.• Click on Student Services and Financial Aid.• Click on Registration.• Click on Check Your Registration Status.• Select the term of your current class registration and click submit.• Your Prop. 300 status is displayed.Out-of-State StudentsStudents 18 years of age or older who have not established a domicile in Arizona for at leastone year immediately prior to the first day of class will be classified as out-of-state residentsfor tuition purposes. Students under 18 years of age at the beginning of classes will be determinedby the Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS 15-1801). Nonresident students should note thatresidency does not change automatically. Proper documentation must be filed with theAdmissions Office for review and approval before residency status will be changed. Requestsfor change in residency status are to be made prior to registration. A change in residency classificationafter the term begins will not take effect until the next term. Residency changes arenot retroactive. For residency requirements and exceptions not listed, refer to the Residency
