_____________________________________________________________________________________________85. <strong>Crash</strong> NarrativeInsert a word description of events occurring prior to, during, and after the crash whichare not elsewhere on the form. The description should note all pertinent and unusualaspects of the crash. The statements made in this narrative should be in the opinion ofthe investigating officer. The crash narrative or description provides valuable informationto traffic researchers, enabling them to design and promote Highway Safety Programs.An example of a current issue that is of concern to safety officials is the use of cellphones by drivers as they are operating their vehicles.86. Additional Property DamageEnter any property other than motor vehicles and their loads that was damaged, identifythe property and its owner and enter an estimate of the dollar damage. Damage tosigns, buildings, mailboxes, fences, etc., should be entered here. Indicate by checkingthe appropriate box if damage was done to “state property.”WitnessesIdentify any reliable witness(es) who may be of help in future investigation by recordingtheir name, address and phone number.Traffic ViolationsEnter the names of any persons charged with a traffic violation, and the chargespreferred.
