Part 2 Issuing CompanyThai Beverage Public Company Limitedwhisky stored in the oak barrels and pure alcohol. These spirits have been introduced to Thailand bythe international spirits companies to compete in the low-priced brown spirits. The Company has itsown range of admix whisky brands, including the most recent “Crown 99”. The Company alsoimports “Drummer” to compete directly with the imported products. The Company’s current portfolio of brands does not compete directly with imported premiumspirits. However, the Company recognizes that the standard segment of the market is growing inresponse to Thai consumers’ either switching from locally produced brands or from higher-pricedimported products to such segment. Consequently, the Company’s strategy is to upgrade its portfolioof spirits brands progressively to compete in this market segment. The entry barriers to the spirits industry in Thailand are lower than those of beer, partlybecause of the longer shelf-life of spirits, which makes spirits imports more viable compared to thebeer market. However, the Company believes there are still significant entry barriers to the spiritsindustry, such as the Company’s leading market position in the economy segment, limited access toestablished distribution channels and limited access to television and radio advertising due to theGovernment’s regulations. These would limit the entry of new competitors into the Thai spirits market.3.1.3 Facilities and CapacityThe Company’s production facilities are located in Thailand and Scotland.
