<strong>CHAPTERS</strong> <strong>ANNUAL</strong> <strong>REPORT</strong> ANALYSISThe most successful EP events are typicallysocial in nature, offering networking, communityservice opportunities and/or career development.The most successful events reported by chapters(40 total) using the previous themes had an averageattendance of 55 EPs per event. Of the 178 total EPevents, average attendance was 24 people. Manychapters are having 2-10 times more attendees atEP events than regular chapter meetings. Over 40% of chapters offered a discountedmembership rate to EPs at an average rate of $33per year. Regular chapter membership is typically$70/year. Given the importance of EPs the <strong>US</strong>GBCboard instituted a consistent EP membership ratefor chapters in February 2013. Additionally, about14% (11 chapters) in the chapter network nowhave specific membership recruitment programsdesigned to attract EP’s to their organization. Thisis a key area of support and focus for <strong>US</strong>GBC for itschapters as a part of the Three Year Plan.There were many membership bright spots forchapters between 2011 and 2012. Chapters with thelargest growth in membership between 2011 and2012 are listed in Table 3.2.In addition to building membership, six chaptershave excelled at retaining existing members.
