<strong>CHAPTERS</strong> <strong>ANNUAL</strong> <strong>REPORT</strong> ANALYSISConclusionFrom the data presented in this report there aremany areas to celebrate related to chapters and theirimpact in 2012, including: a further commitment todiversity and engaging new audiences, doubledattendance in education programs from 2011,increased focus on local and state advocacy, morediversified funding (especially from grants), anddiving deeper into mission-related work. Given theongoing economic downturn and rapidly changingmarkets, there are also ongoing challengesthroughout the chapter network, including: budgetshort-falls, membership declines, and volunteerburn-out.As a part of <strong>US</strong>GBC’s Three Year Plan forChapters and Community, <strong>US</strong>GBC’s CommunityAdvancement team, the Chapter SteeringCommittee, and individual chapter leaders will usethe information garnered from this report to worktogether to further the successes identified andto address the challenges presented in this reportthroughout the remainder of 2013 and beyondto ensure our chapters are strong, impactful, andable to fully implement our shared vision of greenbuildings and communities for all.We thank each of our chapters for submittingthe data that made this report possible. We hopethe report is useful in both ascertaining the broadimpact of the entire chapter network as well as foridentifiying successes and best-practices beingimplemented by other chapters and for identifyingpeer chapters that may be experiencing similarissues. It is hoped that chapter leaders use this reportand the attached snapshots to reach out to anddevelop relationships with their chapter peers giventhe wealth of programs, initiatives, and strategiesbeing implemented across the network.2012 <strong>CHAPTERS</strong> <strong>ANNUAL</strong> <strong>REPORT</strong> | 42
