In order to minimize the negative influences of thesecircumstances in <strong>2003</strong>, <strong>Turkish</strong> <strong>Airlines</strong> chose to increasecargo traffic by ensuring customer satisfaction andoffering a variety of services to make the best use of theexisting cargo capacity.In addition to customer services, such as cargo trackingand accessing information on domestic prices andschedules over the Internet, a new WAP services programwas launched for tracing cargo via cellular phone.In order to trace the Unit Load Devices (ULD) used as theloading element in cargo operations from one carrier tothe next, to perform healthy inventory control and toachieve better use of the equipment, <strong>Turkish</strong> <strong>Airlines</strong>joined the IATA Interline ULD system and launched thisoperation. A scheduled, combined land-air cargotransportation project was also created that aimed torevive domestic cargo traffic in Turkey and to enhance theAirline’s capacity to serve neighbouring countries.
