Facultyappointment at an annualized rate <strong>of</strong> $56,865 for 10 months ($5,686.50 per month), effectiveAugust 1, 2008.Janda, Robert Lance, Associate Pr<strong>of</strong>essor, Department <strong>of</strong> History and Government, title changedfrom Associate Pr<strong>of</strong>essor, Department <strong>of</strong> History and Government to Associate Pr<strong>of</strong>essor andChair, Department <strong>of</strong> History and Government at an annualized rate <strong>of</strong> $72,404 for 10 months(includes $2,404 chair stipend)($7,240.40 per month), effective August 1, 2008. Dr. Lance Janda isrelated by marriage to Dr. Sarah Janda, Associate Pr<strong>of</strong>essor, Department <strong>of</strong> History and Government. As Chair, Dr. Lance Jandawould directly supervise Dr. Sarah Janda. A Nepotism Waiver Management Plan has been recommended by <strong>the</strong> Vice Presidentfor Academic Affairs and approved by <strong>the</strong> President to ensure that Dr. Lance Janda is removed from any and all financial orevaluative matters relating to Dr. Sarah Janda. The Dean <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> School <strong>of</strong> Liberal Arts will be responsible for Dr. Sarah Janda’ssupervision.SABBATICAL LEAVE OF ABSENCE:Batka, John, Associate Pr<strong>of</strong>essor, Department <strong>of</strong> Psychology and Human Ecology, sabbaticalleave <strong>of</strong> absence at half pay for <strong>the</strong> 2008-2009 academic year in order to receive training througha contract with <strong>the</strong> United States Air Force’s general clinical psychologist initiative. Dr. Batkahas been <strong>of</strong>fered a position at <strong>the</strong> United States Air Force Base in Altus, Oklahoma to providedirect service to Air Force service members. The purposes <strong>of</strong> Dr. Batka’s request are directlyrelated to his fur<strong>the</strong>r pr<strong>of</strong>essional development and will bring additional prestige to CameronUniversity. The sabbatical will help <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Psychology and Human Ecology byimproving Dr. Batka’s pr<strong>of</strong>iciency as a mental health pr<strong>of</strong>essional and expand his area <strong>of</strong>expertise in forensic psychology. Initial appointment: Fall 1999. No previous sabbaticals.President Ross recommended <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Regents approve <strong>the</strong> administrative andfaculty personnel actions listed above.Regent Bell moved approval <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> recommendation. The following voted yes on <strong>the</strong>motion: Regents Wade, Bell, Rainbolt-Forbes, Dunning and Clark. The Chair declared <strong>the</strong>motion unanimously approved.LITIGATION – CUThis item was included in <strong>the</strong> agenda for <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> meeting with GeneralCounsel in executive session for a report on pending and possible litigation. No executivesession was held, and <strong>the</strong>re was no report.CURRICULUM CHANGES – CUANNUAL INVESTMENT REPORT – CUQUARTERLY REPORT OF PURCHASES – CUQUARTERLY FINANCIAL ANALYSIS – CUThe listed items are identified, by <strong>the</strong> administration, in each agenda item as “ForInformation Only.” Although no action was required, <strong>the</strong> opportunity to discuss or consider any<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m individually was provided.
