Selected suppliers wereevaluated for discounted pricing, brand lines, terms and conditions, and o<strong>the</strong>r specifications.and Trust.Funding has been identified and is provided by <strong>the</strong> University Hospitals AuthorityPresident Boren recommended <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Regents authorize <strong>the</strong> President or hisdesignee to issue purchase orders in <strong>the</strong> amount <strong>of</strong> $2,484,222 to Scott Rice, Inc., <strong>of</strong> OklahomaCity and in <strong>the</strong> amount <strong>of</strong> $615,778 to Workplace Resources, <strong>of</strong> Oklahoma City, based uponpreviously competitively awarded contracts, for <strong>the</strong> acquisition <strong>of</strong> furniture for <strong>the</strong> OUChildren’s Physicians Building.Regent Wade moved approval <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> recommendation. The following voted yes on<strong>the</strong> motion: Regents Wade, Bell, Rainbolt-Forbes, Dunning and Clark. The Chair declared <strong>the</strong>motion unanimously approved.INDIRECT MEDICAL EDUCATION (IME) FOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE – TULSAThe IME program provides funding for <strong>the</strong> training <strong>of</strong> medical residents through afederal matching funds program. OU has <strong>the</strong> opportunity to secure <strong>the</strong> matching funds.Under <strong>the</strong> agreement, OU and OSU will remit <strong>the</strong>ir respective match share to OHCA.OHCA will <strong>the</strong>n remit a combined amount to <strong>the</strong> IME program. OHCA will receive <strong>the</strong> matchedfunds and <strong>the</strong>n distribute to OU, <strong>of</strong> which OU will distribute in accordance with <strong>the</strong> SettlementAgreement signed by Joe Harroz, General Counsel on <strong>the</strong> 6th day <strong>of</strong> June, 2007, between HMCand <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Regents <strong>of</strong> OU on behalf <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> College <strong>of</strong> Medicine, Tulsa. OU’s contributionto <strong>the</strong> match is approximately $2,284,645. For fiscal year 2008-2009, OU will receiveapproximately $6,944,210 in IME funding, <strong>of</strong> which OU will transfer $2,430,474 to HMC inaccordance with <strong>the</strong> terms <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Settlement Agreement. OU will use <strong>the</strong> remaining funds toenhance and enrich educational programs for <strong>the</strong> College <strong>of</strong> Medicine, Tulsa medical residents.The funds will be used primarily for salary support for faculty and staff.President Boren recommends <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Regents authorize <strong>the</strong> President or hisdesignee to enter into an agreement with <strong>the</strong> Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA),Oklahoma State University College <strong>of</strong> Osteopathic Medicine (OSU), and AHS Hillcrest MedicalCenter, LLC (HMC), a Delaware limited liability company, under which <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong>Oklahoma (OU) and OSU shall remit to OHCA a total amount not to exceed $4,569,290 for <strong>the</strong>provision <strong>of</strong> funds to be matched by <strong>the</strong> Federal Indirect Medical Education program, for <strong>the</strong>one-year period beginning July 1, 2008, and to receive and apply such value as may accrue toOU under <strong>the</strong> agreement.Regent Wade moved approval <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> recommendation.
