Grouping of DistrictsFor each variable, component and index, districts have been divided into five classes: Secure toModerately Secure, Moderately Insecure, Severely Insecure and Extremely Insecure. The methodused for making class intervals is the 'equal intervals' method, i.e. the difference between all upperand lower class intervals for an indicator is the same. This method takes into account the range ofthe indicator's values and divides the range into five equal classes. The number of districts in differentclasses can be different.APPEND IX II117
