Existing land use patternsand the fragmented land ownership alsoserve to reduce connectivity and legibilitythroughout the OA.The Thames Path, which runs through the OAfrom Battersea Park to Vauxhall and alongAlbert Embankment, is part of the strategicThames Path National Trail. At points withinthe OA the river path is disconnected fromthe river and varies in quality along the route.At many points within the OA the pedestrianenvironment is dominated by traffic,pedestrian routes are interrupted by highwayand rail infrastructure and the conditionof the footways and street clutter is alsoa problem particularly along Nine ElmsLane, Wandsworth Road and Battersea ParkRoad.
