Each letter and numberhas a significant meaning, and the order of these is critical <strong>to</strong> getting the right sprocket.Example: HSS81XC45F-50MMH SS 81X C 45 F- 50MMHSS81XCHardened (Heat Treated)Non Heat Treated would be SS81XC45F-50MMStainless SteelCarbon Steel material would be H81XC45F-50MMChain Size(or pitch for cus<strong>to</strong>m engineering class sprockets.Hub StyleA indicates A-Plate (no hub).B for B-Hub (hub on one side).C for C-Hub (hub on both sides).The hub letter may be replaced by another letter representing a bushing hub or a split taper hub,such as 81XR45 for an R1 split taper hub.45 Number of teethF- Finished BoreThis designates a finished bore with a keyway and two set screws. The dash after “F” is droppedif the bore diameter is less than 1”. S<strong>to</strong>ck bore sprockets may either have a designation of “SB”,or no designation at all.
