Many children moved amonginstitutions (27%) or from an institution(s) into a foster placement(s) or vice versa (27%).So I went through foster homes, and I never stayed in one any longer than two months …Then you’d be moved onto the next place and it went on and on and on. That’s one of themain reasons I didn’t finish primary school.Confidential evidence 316, Tasmania. The Inquiry was advised by the Australian Association of Infant Mental Health,While separation and loss may become commonplace for the child who experiences several fosterplacements, the multiplicity of separations does not make them any easier (submission 699 page4).
