Advanced Placement Calculus II (<strong>Course</strong> #1136)AP Calculus II is designed to prepare students who have successfully completed AP Calculus I for theCollege Board's Advanced Placement Calculus BC Test. Since the course will continue to build on theconcepts taught in AP Calculus I, it is expected that students are pr<strong>of</strong>icient with the skills covered in thatcourse. Technology is used regularly to enhance students' understanding <strong>of</strong> course material. Students willbe required to have a graphics calculator for this course. A suggested type will be recommended by theteacher.Advanced Placement Statistics (<strong>Course</strong> # 1141)Advanced Placement Statistics follows successful completion <strong>of</strong> Algebra II or Honors Algebra II (or higherlevel courses) and is designed to prepare students to be successful on the College Board's AdvancedPlacement Statistics Test. The course will introduce students to the major concepts and tools forcollecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. This will be accomplished through the study <strong>of</strong>four broad conceptual themes: exploring data, sampling and experimentation, anticipating patterns, andstatistical inference as outlined in the AP Statistics curriculum. Both computer s<strong>of</strong>tware and handheldgraphing utilities will be used to enhance student learning. Students will be required to have a graphicscalculator for this course. A suggested type will be recommended by the teacher.42
