CHAPTER 9 - RECEIVE ALARM NOTIFICATIONSHow <strong>SiteView</strong> Receive AlarmsIn order to receive any alarms, <strong>SiteView</strong> must have Alarm Centre opened. Alarm Centre can bedisplayed by clicking on Alarm Centre menu item under Tools menu.There are two ways that a logger can report the alarm condition:1. Via Modem Connection:If the connection between the logger and the computer is Modem connection, and Sent Outvia Modem/Pager was selected in Alarm Sent-out Selection, the logger will send out thealarm notification via Modem connection by dialling out the phone number and send out thealarm.In this case, <strong>SiteView</strong> can receive alarms from any logger that can access the Modemconnection.2. Via Direct Connection:If the connection between the logger and the computer is USB, Ethernet or direct Serial Port,<strong>SiteView</strong> will retrieve the alarm condition of the logger periodically. In this case, <strong>SiteView</strong>keeps the USB, Ethernet connection or the serial port open all the time.Configure Parameters for Receiving AlarmsBefore the logger was sent out to the field, the logger must be configured properly for alarmnotification. The parameters can be configured are through <strong>Logger</strong> Configuration dialog.Configure Channels for AlarmingIn Alarm & Excitation tab, there is Channel Alarm Settings table. If you want the alarm ofthe channel to be enabled you need to check Alarm Enabled field.
