Email KCarolineStrange@isstavanger. no or call 51 55 43 13specific requirements if your university requires the SATSubject Tests (they usually require 2-3 SAT II SubjectTests) and know that THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE SATII TESTS ARE ONLY OFFERED IN NOVEMBER.ACT PLUS WRITING TEST - For current 10th and 11thgrade students check the requirements of the universitiesyou are applying <strong>to</strong>. Many universities are now acceptingthe ACT Plus in lieu of the SAT subject tests.NOTE: If a university accepts either the ACT or SAT,it might be useful <strong>to</strong> <strong>take</strong> each of these tests once duringthe eleventh grade <strong>to</strong> see which type of exam you aremore successful with. Then it is advisable <strong>to</strong> re<strong>take</strong> theexam, either the ACT or SAT, a second time during thefall semester of your 12th grade. Universities <strong>take</strong> thebest individual scores from the test even if <strong>take</strong>n at twodifferent times. If you are planning <strong>to</strong> apply for entrancein<strong>to</strong> university for the fall of 2012 all of these exams mustbe completed by December 2011, if you plan <strong>to</strong> <strong>take</strong> themhere at ISS.• 11th grade students should only consider taking theseexams in the spring semester.• 12th grade students who are planning college entrancefor fall 2012 should only consider taking these examsin the fall semester.It is most helpful <strong>to</strong> become familiar with the formatand content of these exams so please carefully review forthem and use the study books that are available in the ISSLibrary and Counseling Office.Additional information about these tests will be given atSenior Seminar and Junior Seminar next yearTO 11TH GRADE STUDENTS WHO WILLNEED TO TAKE THE TOEFL EXAM FORUNIVERSIT Y ADMISSIONIf the university you are planning <strong>to</strong> attend requires you<strong>to</strong> demonstrate English language proficiency you may signup online at www.ets.org <strong>to</strong> locate a testing center.
