News from the Exams Coordina<strong>to</strong>rIB resultsIB students can access their results at http://results.ibo.org from 16:00 Norwegian time on Wednesday 6th July2011. All students have been issued with an alphanumeric personal code and a PIN which allows them <strong>to</strong> access theirown results only, and students should note that the site only allows a limited number of attempts <strong>to</strong> access the site so itis vital NOT <strong>to</strong> try <strong>to</strong> access the site before the designated time, and <strong>to</strong> enter the personal code (which is case sensitive)and PIN absolutely accurately! Any students who have problems with the IBO site can contact me by telephone onWednesday evening only at 51 55 30 54 (from 17:00 <strong>to</strong> 21:00).Students who have questions about their results (who wish <strong>to</strong> query their results, or investigate the possibilityof re<strong>take</strong>s, or who would like the school <strong>to</strong> contact universities about their provisional <strong>off</strong>ers) MUST contactme in school on Thursday 7th July or Friday 8th July between 09:00 and 14:00. Deadlines are very short, and Iwill only be available on those two days <strong>to</strong> arrange the possibility of November re<strong>take</strong>s! After that, I will notbe available until the beginning of August, which is after the deadline for November re<strong>take</strong>s. Diplomas andCertificates are normally mailed <strong>to</strong> the school in late August or early September, and will then be sent by registeredpost <strong>to</strong> the address provided by the student.IGCSE resultsThis year the IGCSE results will be available online through a special website set up by Cambridge InternationalExaminations at https://myresults.cie.org.ukThe results will be available from Thursday 11th August 2011.Parents and students have been sent an information sheet in the mail with details of their username and password,which should be kept confidential and kept in a safe place until August!I will be in school on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th August if there are any urgent questions about the results, andwill also be available once school re-starts on 15th August.Families who are leaving ISS this summer, should remember <strong>to</strong> leave a forwarding address with the High School Office(both an email address AND a mailing address if possible) so that we can send the IGCSE Certificates when theyarrive in September / Oc<strong>to</strong>ber.And finally a message for 11th graders ...It is important that 11th graders think carefully about the best way <strong>to</strong> use their long summer break. Although rest andrelaxation are vital, the holiday gives students the opportunity <strong>to</strong> reinforce their learning from the 11th grade, preparefor 12th grade, and especially <strong>to</strong> work on their Extended Essay. The students who have finished their IB Diploma will,I am sure, support me in this. The IB Diploma is a demanding academic programme, involving commitment andorganisation throughout the two years.
