Eachhand-written comment provides a more detailed and personal voice fromthe students. They play a large role in my motivation to become a betterteacher.Each student evaluation form includes a back page with five questions and a space for hand-writtenresponses. I have included hard copies of all written responses from all students in all of my classes in theStudent Evaluations section of the appendix. I have selected a few that I would like to highlight below:Notable Positive Remarks:! “Chris Gargiulo is one of the best instructors that I’ve had here at KCC.”! “You are the best teacher I have ever had. Thank you!”! “Strong knowledge of material, keeping up w/ the latest technology, adapting teaching proceduresso each student succeeds, finding interesting and relevant examples.”! “He has the perfect combo of patience, knowledge, clarity (knows how to explain). He might evenenjoy his job.”! “I would have quit this program a long time ago if he wasn’t here because I wouldn’t be getting mymoney’s worth. He actually teaches you, not like some teachers who show up to class and expectyou to learn the stuff in your own time or already know it.”! “I hope that KCC (as well as the students in the NMA program) realize what an asset ChrisGargiulo is to this program! He could be getting paid way more than he does as an instructor,working in the outside world! And I hope that I’m done with all my schooling here before herealizes it and leaves. Give the man a raise QUICK!”! “Yes!! I have to admit that I was completely lost the 1 st month of school having no real knowledgeof HTML and absolutely none of CSS. Through Chris’s patience + guidance, I feel very confidentabout my ability to create web sites. It amazes me how far I have come in ONE SEMESTER! They really help in preparing for lessons.”! “I feel you still grade rather lightly. We need a little more… harshness (?) to prepare us of what isreally out there.”! “With the online tutorials, he can probably make this an online class. To elaborate on ‘question 2’– I feel that I can 4X more done at home than in class because when Chris is helping the otherside of room, I tend to get bombarded with questions by the surrounding students, so majority ofthe time I just end up helping people + get a little done on my project.”*note: please see the Student Evaluations section of the appendix for the full list of written responses.Teaching section page 46
