Prior to teaching, I worked atvarious design and advertising companies fromNew York City to Los Angeles. My last job beforebecoming a full time educator was as an artdirector at Samsung’s advertising firm, CheilCommunications America, where I worked ononline advertising for Samsung Electronics USA.My client work includes Sony, Samsung, ABC,Warner Brothers, Six Flags, Hasbro, MarvelComics, Princess Cruises, and others.During my summer breaks, I often work as afreelance designer, doing client-based work forvarious companies locally and internationally. Mymost recent projects include a promotional videofor Sony, a corporate video for the Baylor-Lesotho Pediatric HIV/AIDS Children’s Center inLesotho, Africa, and a web site for O’kela, a localelectrical contracting company.As a practicing artist, I periodically createartwork for gallery shows and film festivals. Myrecent art work & shows include: Digital Stasis atthe Digital Artists of Hawai‘i exhibition at Gallery‘Iolani, H3 Google Earth video at the AlohaHo‘omaluhia exhibition, Hanging in the Balanceat the San Francisco Ocean Film Festival, andThe Interim: Intersubjectivity in Short Cinema atthe Parsons Annual Animation and DV FilmFestival.I received my MFA in Design and Technologyfrom Parsons School of Design and my BA inFine Art from Amherst College. I am currentlytaking classes at the University of Hawaii atManoa in preparation for a future PhD degree inCommunications and Information Sciences.When I am not on campus, I am usually athome spending time with my wife and fourmonth old son, Nathaniel. My wife is a child &adolescent psychiatrist and pediatrician at TriplerMedical Center.I love my job at KCC. It is honestly the bestjob that I have ever had.
