INTRODUCTIONA BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO THE CONTENTS OF THIS DOCUMENTSummary of Accomplishments and EndeavorsOver the past four years, I have grown to become a more effectiveteacher in the classroom, a determined life-long student in my field, aleader within my program, and a dedicated service member to my campusand community.I have been teaching at Kapi’olaniCommunity College (KCC) within the New MediaArts (NMA) program since the fall of 2006. In thisshort time span, I have learned a lot andaccomplished many things. My teaching hasevolved to embrace new teaching practices,techniques, and technologies. My professionaldevelopment initiatives have increased my levelof expertise in my field and improved myawareness and understanding of the studentexperience. I have participated on severalcommittees at various levels servicing myprogram, department, campus, and community. Ihave learned much inside and outside of theclassroom about curricular design, evaluation,and assessment practices on both the courseand program level. I have become a leaderwithin my program, writing several grantproposals and program related reports,managing scheduling, running meetings,interviewing and hiring lecturers, and being thepoint-person and spokesperson for New MediaArts program as a discipline coordinator for thepast two years.Within the contents of this application you willfind documentation of my accomplishmentsdemonstrating that I am already operating at thelevel of Assistant Professor (C3). They develop an understanding of therelationship of their discipline to the students'total instructional program and theycontribute to the development activities atthe discipline and campus level.! They work independently and withcolleagues to develop, revise and selectcurriculum materials, instructionaltechniques, and student-needs-assessmentstrategies at the course or discipline level.! They also provide service to the college andcommunity outside of the area of primaryresponsibilities and leadership in discipline,department, or college activities.!
