Usage of expression 'kamini kanchana'Sri Ramakrishna used the Bengaliwords kamini kanchana veryfrequently in the original fivevolumes of Sri Sri RamakrishnaKathamrita. We believe he usedthis phrase to warn his disciples oflust and greed, which are the mainobstacles to spiritual progress.Moreover, Sri Ramakrishnalooked upon all women as thevery manifestations of the DivineMother.Accordingly, we have used theterm 'lust and greed,' or 'lust andgold,' instead of 'woman and gold'as a translation of kaminikanchana.
