7.4.8 Easements for Closed ConduitsEasements for closed conduits shall meet <strong>the</strong> following requirements:Minimum width <strong>of</strong> 3 m (10 ft) with pipe centered 0.75 m (2.5 ft) from <strong>the</strong> north or westedge. Whenever possible, rights <strong>of</strong> way for closed conduits shall be along or adjacent toproperty lines and outside <strong>of</strong> areas where structures are planned.On pipes <strong>of</strong> 600 mm (24 in) diameter and greater, or trenches exceeding 1.5 m (5 ft) indepth, <strong>the</strong> easement shall have additional width to provide ample working space asrequired by <strong>the</strong> <strong>City</strong> Engineer or County Public Works Director.Provide access and working space rights.7.4.9 Property Rights for Open ChannelsProperty rights for major and intermediate open conduits shall have sufficient width to contain<strong>the</strong> open channel with side slopes, and at least one, 4.5-m (15-foot) wide service road.The <strong>City</strong> Engineer or County Public Works Director may waive this requirement alongconstructed natural channels or open channels in parks and open space areas with good access.SLO Creek <strong>Drainage</strong> <strong>Design</strong> <strong>Manual</strong> 97 February 2003
