14 <strong>Diploma</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Cognitive</strong>-<strong>Behavioural</strong> <strong>Hypnotherapy</strong>Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre PoliciesAdmissions PolicyStudents attend<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>Diploma</strong> are expected to meet the follow<strong>in</strong>g requirements,1. Students should have no history of crim<strong>in</strong>al convictions or sanctions by professional organisations whichmight reflect upon their suitability to practice as a therapist.2. Students should be sufficiently fluent <strong>in</strong> spoken English to work effectively with English-speak<strong>in</strong>g clients.3. Students must be <strong>in</strong> suitable mental health for tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, e.g., without a history of psychotic symptoms orcurrent mental health problems.4. Students who currently suffer from a general medical condition or psychological condition which mightaffect their safety or <strong>in</strong> any way imp<strong>in</strong>ge upon their ability to study are responsible for <strong>in</strong>form<strong>in</strong>g their Tutorbefore commenc<strong>in</strong>g tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g. For example, students who suffer from panic attacks or cl<strong>in</strong>ical depressionare required to notify their Tutor <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g, so that relevant details can be logged <strong>in</strong> their file.5. Students wish<strong>in</strong>g to pursue professional registration as hypno-psychotherapists rather thanhypnotherapists should possess a university degree or otherwise be able to demonstrate a post-graduatelevel of competence at commencement of tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g.6. Students should have, or are advised to obta<strong>in</strong>, suitable experience of work<strong>in</strong>g with other people <strong>in</strong> arelevant professional role, e.g., <strong>in</strong> medic<strong>in</strong>e, psychotherapy, counsell<strong>in</strong>g, or social work.Equal Opportunities1. We promise to make reasonable adjustment to accommodate your needs, <strong>in</strong>sofar as it is possible andappropriate to do so.3. Your Tutor will discuss the best methods of support to meet your needs and will notify NCFE of the supportthey are go<strong>in</strong>g to give you.Appeals Policy & Enquiries about Results1. Students who wish to appeal aga<strong>in</strong>st the Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre‘s mark<strong>in</strong>g decisions have the right to do so bycontact<strong>in</strong>g the College <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g with<strong>in</strong> 28 days of the orig<strong>in</strong>al decision. At the discretion of the College, theAssessor may be asked to re-assess the work <strong>in</strong> question, which will be checked by the Internal Verifier.Appeals aga<strong>in</strong>st the second decision of the Assessor may be made <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g with<strong>in</strong> 28 days of theirdecision to the College. If the College considers it appropriate, a different Assessor may be appo<strong>in</strong>ted tore-assess the work <strong>in</strong>dependently of the first.2. If you are still not satisfied with the Assessor‘s decision, or wish to challenge the decision of the ExternalVerifier, you have the right to raise an appeal with NCFE directly. This must take place with<strong>in</strong> 28 days ofthe preced<strong>in</strong>g verification decision. There is a charge for this service, which is refunded if the appeal isupheld and your result is changed. Please bear <strong>in</strong> m<strong>in</strong>d that re-mark<strong>in</strong>g can result <strong>in</strong> a negative resultchange, as well as positive and that the re-checked mark will be used for your overall result.3.
