Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre Policies 15Student Satisfaction Policy & Compla<strong>in</strong>ts Procedure1. Compla<strong>in</strong>ts must be submitted <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g to the Student Support Coord<strong>in</strong>ator at the Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre with<strong>in</strong>28 days of the <strong>in</strong>cident <strong>in</strong> question. See the front of this handbook for staff details and the address.2. The Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre will respond <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g to compla<strong>in</strong>ts with<strong>in</strong> 28 days of receipt, where possible.3. If you are unhappy with the Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre‘s response you may appeal <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g to the Register‘sexecutive committee with<strong>in</strong> 28 days. Contact the Register for details; see above for details.4. If you are unhappy with the Register‘s response, you may appeal to NCFE. NCFE will act upon reports ofsuspected or actual cases of malpractice or misconduct received from candidates and other parties about acentre‘s activities or centre personnel which may affect the <strong>in</strong>tegrity of the scheme(s) and quality assurancesystems. NCFE‘s decision will be treated as f<strong>in</strong>al.Course Structure & Professional Accreditation1. The normal number of classroom contact hours is 224, which can be divided across a series of modules;the total anticipated number of study hours, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g homework, is 500 hours.2. Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g for the diploma is normally divided across modules delivered over a m<strong>in</strong>imum period of 18 months,though this may vary depend<strong>in</strong>g upon students‘ circumstances and needs.3. Upon completion of the diploma, students will be eligible to jo<strong>in</strong> <strong>REBHP</strong> at Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Hypnotherapist(Licentiate) grade.4. Upon completion of an additional period of supervised cl<strong>in</strong>ical practice, <strong>in</strong> accord with the Register‘srequirements, students may be eligible to upgrade to Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Hypnotherapist (Accredited) grade.5. Students seek<strong>in</strong>g professional registration with <strong>REBHP</strong> as a ―hypno-psychotherapist‖ must meet additionalrequirements.6. These criteria are subject to change. Please check with <strong>REBHP</strong> for current requirements.Assessment Policy & Student Misconduct1. Students must be able to provide evidence of attend<strong>in</strong>g at least 90% of the designated classroom hours tobe eligible for this award.2. If students miss a classroom exercise that is required for assessment they must either make arrangementswith the Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre to attend at another date, if possible, or provide alternative evidence, such assubmission of a record<strong>in</strong>g, at the discretion of the Academic Board of the Register.3. Students who enrol for the award must submit their portfolio with<strong>in</strong> 12 months of complet<strong>in</strong>g the f<strong>in</strong>al stageof tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g.4. Rem<strong>in</strong>ders for unf<strong>in</strong>ished work will be sent to your designated postal address by the Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre‘sadm<strong>in</strong>istrator.5. If your award<strong>in</strong>g centre (the College) suspects you have been <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> malpractice or misconduct (e.g.cheat<strong>in</strong>g) your award will not be issued dur<strong>in</strong>g the course of the <strong>in</strong>vestigation. If the case is proven youmay have a part of your assessment disallowed or, <strong>in</strong> serious cases, your f<strong>in</strong>al results may be void. Formore <strong>in</strong>formation your Tutor will be able to provide you with a full copy of NCFE‘s Malpractice andMisconduct Policy, or you can download it from: www.ncfe.org.uk.Quality Assurance Policy1. Student work is marked by a qualified Assessor <strong>in</strong> accord with NCFE requirements.2. The portfolios marked by the Assessor are subsequently checked by the Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre‘s InternalVerifier, who samples randomly from them to assure quality of assessment and work submitted.3. The portfolios are also checked periodically by NCFE‘s appo<strong>in</strong>ted External Verifier.4. At least one student representative is appo<strong>in</strong>ted from the Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre‘s current cohort of students <strong>in</strong>tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g to represent student feedback to the Register.5. Written qualitative and quantitative course feedback is collected from all students, where possible, andreviewed by the Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre adm<strong>in</strong>istrator.Data Protection PolicyThe Award<strong>in</strong>g Centre is registered under the Data Protection Act (Registration Number Z9662484), as areNCFE, and both are committed to ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g the highest possible standards when handl<strong>in</strong>g personal<strong>in</strong>formation.
