No. 575BY COMMISSIONER DAHLBERG:WHEREAS, <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Louis</strong> <strong>County</strong> is required to submit a 2012-2013 Vulnerable Children &Adults Act (VCA) Biennial Service Agreement and a Minnesota Family Investment Program(MFIP) Biennial Service Agreement to the <strong>St</strong>ate of Minnesota explaining how it intends tospend VCA and MFIP Consolidated Funds; andWHEREAS, the required 30-day public comment period on the 2012-2013 VCA/MFIPBiennial Service Agreements started September 22, <strong>2011</strong>, with public input received duringthis 30-day period incorporated into the agreement; andWHEREAS, <strong>County</strong> Board approval is required before submitting the 2012-2013VCA/MFIP Biennial Service Agreements to the Minnesota Department of Human Services.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Louis</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board approves thecontent of the 2012-2013 Vulnerable Children & Adults Act (VCA) and Minnesota FamilyInvestment Program (MFIP) Biennial Service Agreements.Yeas – Commissioners Jewell, Dahlberg, Forsman, Sweeney, Nelson, and Raukar – 6Nays – 0Abstained – Chair O’Neil – 1Adopted November 1, <strong>2011</strong>. No. 576BY COMMISSIONER FORSMAN:WHEREAS, the Public Works Department equipment budget includes the purchase ofAutomated Vehicle Location/Global Position System (AVL/GPS) equipment, which hasproven to be a cost savings through the reduction in salt/sand usage; andWHEREAS, Precise Mobile Resource Management is the only company that is affiliatedwith Force America, the provider of all calibrated controls currently in use by the county, andpurchasing from Precise Mobile Resource Management will ensure a seamless efficientpackage that has already been proven; andWHEREAS, the purchase price from Precise Mobile Resource Management of $127,730,plus $8,781.44 <strong>St</strong>ate of Minnesota sales tax, for a total of $136,511.44 is within the amountbudgeted for this purchase.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Louis</strong> <strong>County</strong> Board authorizes thepurchase of AVL/GPS equipment from Precise Mobile Resource Management of Burnsville,Minnesota, in the amount of $136,511.44, payable from Fund 437, Agency 437001, Object665100.Unanimously adopted November 1, <strong>2011</strong>.
