No. 617WHEREAS, on January 25, 2011, the St. Louis County Board adopted Resolution No. 11-44, authorizing a Joint Powers Agreement with the Lake Superior Forensic Technology andInternet Crimes Against Children Task Force (LSFT & ICACTF), which is located at theCity of Superior, Wisconsin, Police Department; andWHEREAS, the City of Superior was recently awarded a COPS Child Sexual PredatorProgram Grant to support the work of the LSFT and ICACTF; andWHEREAS, this grant encourages full-time law enforcement personnel participation in theTask Force by offering $50,000 the first year and $53,000 the second year toward entry levellaw enforcement positions.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Louis County Board authorizes aMemorandum of Understanding with the City of Superior, Wisconsin, to participate in theCity of Superior’s COPS Child Sexual Predator Program Grant, which will pay up to$103,000 in personnel costs over the two-year grant term of August 1, 2011, through July 31,2013.
