The book was officially launched atthe Museum towards the end of April.This picture shows the authors at the launch event with Colin Harding, Curator of Photographic Technology atthe National Media Museum. He has suggested that the Museum’s collection of over 600 Stephen Pegler imagesshould be classified as being of national importance.Pegler once lived in the house now occupied by the Museum and was one of the first commercial photographersto specialise in the Autochrome colour photography process. He travelled far and wide to capture both local andforeign people and landscapes documenting everyday life in Britain and beyond in the early 20th century.The Pegler Autochromes housed at Bassetlaw Museum are thought to be the largest collection by onephotographer in Britain today.
