Matteo.Cristani.(PhD, computer science) is an assistant professor with the Department
of Computer Science, Università di Verona, Italy. His main research interests
are knowledge representation and ontology of physical systems. He published in
outstanding international journals and recognized international conferences, such
as Artificial Intelligent, Journal of Artificial Intelligent Research, ECAI, KR, and
IJCAI.
Roberta.Cuel.(PhD, organizational studies) is a research fellow on knowledge
management at the Università di Verona, Italy. Cuel’s main interests include: the
interdependencies between technologies and organizations — in particular, the
impact (non impacts) of innovative technologies on teams, communities, and organizational
models; the study of distributed tools and processes that allow organizational
learning and knowledge management; knowledge representation systems
and tools — such as ontologies, classifications, and taxonomies — as mechanisms
for knowledge reification processes.
Yu.Deng.graduated from Wayne State University, USA, with an MS in computer
science (2004). Her research interests include databases and the Semantic Web.
Asuman.Dogac.is a full professor with the Computer Engineering Department, Middle
East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey. She is founding director of the
Software Research and Development Center (SRDC), METU. Her research interests
include health care informatics, Web Services, and semantic interoperability.
Marco.Eichelberg.is a member of the Healthcare Information and Communication
Systems R&D division at the OFFIS research institute in Oldenburg, Germany. He
is a graduate of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. Dr. Eichelberg
has been involved in research on telemedicine, applications of medical imaging and
PACS, communication standards, conformance and interoperability as well as IT
security for more than 10 years. He has actively contributed to standardisation in
CEN/TC 251 and the DICOM committee. He is closely involved with the Integrating
the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) initiative, where he is currently acting as the
technical manager for IHE in Germany.
Farshad. Fotouhi. received his PhD in computer science from Michigan State
University in 1988. He joined the Faculty of Computer Science at Wayne State
University, USA, in August 1988 where he is currently professor and chair of the
department. Dr. Fotouhi major area of research is databases, including object-relational
databases, multimedia information systems, bioinformatics, medical image
databases and web-enabled databases. He has published more than 80 papers
