About <strong>the</strong> Authors<br />

Anton.Naumenko.is currently working as a researcher at <strong>the</strong> Agora Center, University<br />

<strong>of</strong> Jyväskylä (JYU), Finland. He has a Master <strong>of</strong> Science in IT from JYU<br />

and in computer science from Kharkov National University <strong>of</strong> Radioelectronics<br />

(KhNURE). He also earned a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Economics from KhNURE. In 2004, he<br />

started postgraduate education with <strong>the</strong> JYU Faculty <strong>of</strong> <strong>Information</strong> Technology.<br />

Anton’s pr<strong>of</strong>essional career started in KhNURE with a position <strong>of</strong> technician (2000)<br />

and he is currently a leader <strong>of</strong> a s<strong>of</strong>tware development team and a researcher in<br />

SmartResource project. He recently participated in an adaptive services grid integrated<br />

project supported by <strong>the</strong> European Commission. His expertise and interests consist<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Semantic</strong> <strong>Web</strong>, agent technologies, object-oriented s<strong>of</strong>tware design, information<br />

management systems, system analysis, and access control models.<br />

Bijan.Parsia.is a research philosopher at <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong> Maryland, USA, specializing<br />

in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Semantic</strong> <strong>Web</strong>, description logics, epistemology, oppression <strong>the</strong>ory, AI<br />

planning, and <strong>the</strong> philosophy <strong>of</strong> ma<strong>the</strong>matics and computer science.<br />

Cartic. Ramakrishnan. is a PhD student in computer science at <strong>the</strong> University<br />

<strong>of</strong> Georgia, USA. He graduated from <strong>the</strong> Univeristy <strong>of</strong> Pune, India, with a BE<br />

in computer engineering. He is currently working at <strong>the</strong> Large Scale Distributed<br />

<strong>Information</strong> <strong>Systems</strong> (LSDIS) Lab, University <strong>of</strong> Georgia. He leads <strong>the</strong> research<br />

efforts in ontology learning and semantic association discovery with o<strong>the</strong>r members<br />

at <strong>the</strong> LSDIS lab.<br />

A..F..Salam.is a faculty member in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Systems</strong> and Operations Management<br />

Department at The University <strong>of</strong> North Carolina at Greensboro, USA.<br />

He earned both his MBA and PhD degrees from <strong>the</strong> <strong>State</strong> University <strong>of</strong> New York<br />

at Buffalo. His research interests include e-business and emerging technologies,<br />

intelligent systems in e-business, and information technology management. His<br />

research has been published or accepted for publication in CACM, <strong>Information</strong> &<br />

Management, eService Journal, CAIS, <strong>Information</strong> <strong>Systems</strong> Journal, and Journal<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Information</strong> Technology Cases and Applications. He has served as co-guest editor<br />

<strong>of</strong> a special issue <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> JECR and a special section on Internet and marketing<br />

in <strong>the</strong> CACM.<br />

Sebastian.Schaffert.holds a PhD in computer science from <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong> Munich,<br />

Germany (2004). He is currently employed as a teaching and research assistant at<br />

<strong>the</strong> Institute for Computer Science, University <strong>of</strong> Munich. His research interests<br />

are in XML and semistructured data, as well as functional and logic programming.<br />

He has several publications on <strong>the</strong> language Xcerpt and related topics. Besides this,<br />

Sebastian is interested in Linu and Open Source s<strong>of</strong>tware.<br />
