Seminary to offer a seminary extension program on campus for students
working toward the M.Div. degree.
Christian ensemble, are providing ministry opportunities each week in
churches across our state. CSU's campus ministries department
continues to partner with the SCBC's evangelism team to assist youth
in South Carolina Baptist churches by providing "Connections"
evangelism training.
Convoy of Hope, a ministry that reached 5,300 needy people from the
Charleston area. Through this event and the immediate follow-up, 352
people came to know Christ as their savior.
Great Commission. Since the summer of 2005, CSU's faculty, staff,
and students have served the Lord in Guatemala. Romania. the
Dominican Republic, Mexico, England/Scotland, Philippines, Moldova,
Hungary, South Afiica, Costa Rica, Thailand, and Chile.
partnered with Dr. Jay Strack's Student Leadership University. Under
the leadership of some of America's most influential leaders, four
interns from CSU ministered top students from around the world.
Currently, 321 adtit and non-traditional students are on track to obtain a
baccalaureate degree through CSU's Bachelor of Management Arts
progrilm.
The University's planners have determined that 80 acres of campus
property, adjacent tol-26, will be surplus to our needs for many years
in the future. With this in mind, our Trustees decided that this property
will be leased and developed into a business medical park. The
University broke ground on the new Wingate Hotel in August. All
proceeds from the lease/developrnent of this land will be used for
student scholarships and other University projects.
The University staff and trustees continue to work diligently to raise the
$3 million needed for the construction of a Christian Iradership Center.
The CLC will enhance CSU's emphasis on impacting our culture by
promoting a Christian Worldview.
CSU's student-athletes continue to demonstrate excellence on the field
of competition as well as in the classroom. This past year, 90 of our
student-athletes were named to the Big South Conference Presidential
Honor Roll. This honor is extended to student-athletes who achieve a
GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.
The 2005-2006 academic year marked CSU's 21't year working within
a balanced budget.
The University partnered with SCBC associations and churches on
numerous initiatives this past year:
o E.P.I.C. (Equipping People in Church Leadership) held its
conference for church staff and laity at CSU this past year.
