1. Organization of the Convention. President Don Wilton called
the 186ft annual meeting of the South Carolina Baptist Convention to order.
Enrollment and Credentials Committee. Chairman Alex Henderson
moved that the 500 messengers and all subsequent messengers constitute the
186'h annual meeting of the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The vote
was taken, and the motion was adopted.
Order of Business Committee. Part 1. On behalf of the committee,
Chairman Jerry Phillips moved that the printed agenda become the official
order of business and that during the annual meeting messengers be limited
to three minutes on discussion of any matter of business. The vote was
taken, and the motion was adopted.
2. Introduction of Annual Meeting Theme. President Don Wilton
introduced the theme for this yeat's annual meeting, "Give It Away." He said
think about what Jesus Christ has done for us, the marvels of His grace, the
depths of His love, and just give it away.
