23456The use of ICT paved the way for the collaboration between the two schools.The method chosen corresponds directly to the needs of the pupils and pushesthem to ask questions to their peers and to give answers. They learn to learnfrom their mistakes. The pupils created a collaborative website, in which theycan publish their interventions, and where teachers and pupils interact throughemails, chats, and webcams. Recently, pupils have started to use the forum,suggesting topics to be discussed. Moreover, pupils and teachers are bothplanning to use Illuminate, which is an eLearning platform that Liceo Duni hassubscribed to.Pupils enhanced their problem-solving skills and they are now more aware ofthe role which Math plays, and has played, in the real world throughouthistory. Pupils have understood that Math coveys values which human beingsuniversally share. Pupils enhanced their English skills, widened their vocabularyand consolidated their abilities to comprehend scientific texts.I think they developed in four areas: motivation (at the beginning, some pupilswere sceptical about doing an eTwinning project about Math. Working on itthey changed their mind: a great curiosity grew and they proposed new pointsof view on it); mathematical skills, linguistic knowledge; and positive ICT useand discovery of their didactic potential.The ICT use in this project was particularly important, because pupilsexperimented with the visual dimension of Math, using images to solveproblems (e.g., symmetry).The innovation embedded in the eTwinning pedagogical process gives theopportunity both to teachers and pupils to enrich their experiences. eTwinninggives room to create a favourable learning and teaching environment andconsolidating the spirit of belonging to the European Union.101
