Interview: Diana Oliveira123456Integrating an eTwinning project into my teaching gave my pupils and me theopportunity to improve our communication skills using the computer andEnglish as the working language. We learned about our European partnercountry, Austria, and we shared different educational experiences.As an essential aspect of the use of ICT, multimedia and web design/authoring,pupils are involved in the production of their own multimedia materials andare encouraged to exchange their ideas and experiences using ICT and theInternet. Making links and interacting with our partner school, we learnedfrom each other and increased our motivation.Being in touch with different realities, creating links between the schools,communicating and sharing with each other helps all project participants learnthat working together and joining efforts contributes to better results.Pupils were much more motivated, they were in touch through the Internetwith new realities, they learned to share and they improved their computerand language skills. They worked in a multidisciplinary way in order to producetheir final work. For me as a teacher it was a very good personal andeducational experience to exchange ideas, methods, knowledge and friendship.Working in this project made me learn more about ICT. I acquired newcomputer skills and now the computer is a tool which is always present in myclassroom, for me and my pupils.Don’t be afraid! It is a wonderful opportunity for pupils and teachers to startnew friendships and to learn more about the European Union and a lot ofother subjects.33
