three ma<strong>in</strong> sectors, around half of the respondents <strong>in</strong>dicated that no additional fund<strong>in</strong>g hadbeen received: 31 (or 55%) <strong>in</strong> the FH sector, 33 (or 59%) <strong>in</strong> the university sector, <strong>and</strong> 8 (or50%) <strong>in</strong> the TU sector. The most popular type of fund<strong>in</strong>g reported was public fund<strong>in</strong>g fromorganisations such as the DAAD: 16 (or 29%) of FHs, 17 (or 30%) of universities, <strong>and</strong> 10(or 63%) of TUs reported receiv<strong>in</strong>g this type of fund<strong>in</strong>g. Direct governmental fund<strong>in</strong>g wasreceived by some FHs <strong>and</strong> universities: 13 (or 23%) of FHs <strong>and</strong> 5 (or 9%) of universities<strong>and</strong> 2 (or 13%) of the TUs. Around 10% of the <strong>in</strong>stitutions <strong>in</strong> all three sectors reported thatprivate f<strong>in</strong>ance had been received 70 . A total of 10 <strong>in</strong>stitutions (5 <strong>in</strong> the FH sector <strong>and</strong> 5 <strong>in</strong>the university sector) reported receiv<strong>in</strong>g other types of fund<strong>in</strong>g, such as student fees, own<strong>in</strong>stitutional fund<strong>in</strong>g, Länder f<strong>in</strong>ance, <strong>and</strong> funds from various organisations (CPC, BLK).70 6 or 11% of FHs, 5 or 9% of universities, <strong>and</strong> 2 or 13% of TUs reported receiv<strong>in</strong>g private fund<strong>in</strong>g.57
