The WoodettesDeborah stared at her next target. Her heartwas pounding uncomfortably. If she continued alongthe line her next victim would be Karen Masters, awoman she had only met a matter of hours ago.Christy had assured Debs that Karen and CathyCooper were both experienced and dedicatedspankettes. She had shocked Debs by showing hervideos of them bent bare-arsed across the balustradeof the balcony of Spanky’s Venetian palazzo beingthrashed by their hostess in full view of passingtourists. It struck Deborah that Christy’s chums mightwell be certifiably barking.Despite this assessment Deborah Morton feltextremely nervous as she took up her stance andbegan to run down the gym.Debs breathed a sigh of relief, she was fourwhops in and they had all gone off swimmingly. Shelooked over at Jojo, Nix, Rosemary and Cassie Cassy,they were all nodding approvingly and sippingchampagne.Deborah lined herself up with Christy Cranfieldand set off down the gym. She picked up pace as sheapproached her target and swooped in.Debs scooped down a glass of bubbles in oneand stuck out her glass. “I’m fucking exhausted,” shegroaned. “That was just too stressful.”Christy sat on the arm of Debs chair and puther arm around her chum’s shoulders. “You did aterrific job,” she said, “I’m still sizzling.”Karen Masters and Cathy Cooper lifted theirglasses and toasted Debs.
