(See Appendix G)Stage 2 Development A (UniSA Only)Development This first (A) development stage will focus on creating a newapplication that will satisfy the specifications, particularly in terms ofUniSA institutional practices (e.g. grading schemes).Outcome In consultation with the ALTC this stage was omitted with a view toreducing the timeframe <strong>for</strong> the project to 12 months. Subsequently itwas reinstated and instead Stage 3 (trials in other institutions) werenot undertakenTesting &Evaluation @UniSAHaving received data regarding grading schemes (and otherlearning and teaching issues) from nine institutions via the Learningand Teaching questionnaire it was decided that this developmentstage could be skipped. By focusing on the end goal of providing asystem that would address the needs of all institutions thedevelopment process would be accelerated.Design of the user interface and database was substantiallycompleted and “frozen” (no further major changes) in December2007.A trial of the new CAFAS application will be conducted at UniSAthroughout a variety of disciplines and schools. This trial will beevaluated primarily by focus groups and online surveys of staff andstudents. The project’s Reference Group will also be involved in theevaluation process.Outcome The first trial of CAFAS Online was conducted in November 2008.The significant delay was due to a variety of factors, which aredescribed in detail in other sections of this report.The trial continued at the lead institution throughout 2009 and wasevaluated via anonymous online questionnaires.<strong>Report</strong>ingOutcomeA focus group with staff was held in July 2008 to: a) explain theworkings of the system and provide hands-on training, and b) toseek feedback on the design and functionality of the system.A report will be created to update stakeholders on progress andfindings.The first interim report on the project was provided to the ALTC inJuly 2007. Due to the extended timeline, additional interim reportswere made in <strong>Feb</strong>ruary 2008 and March 2009.Results from the Learning and Teaching, and ICT questionnaireswere reported to ALTC in the first interim report and published in theInternational Journal of Learning and presented at the eLearningSymposium, RMIT, 2007.Computer Aided Feedback & Assessment System (CAFAS) 20
