(4) A regulation in terms of this Act must be made by notice in the Gazette.Consequential amendments, repeal of laws and transitional arrangements162224. (1) The Companies Act, 1973 (Act No. 61 of 1973), is hereby repealed, subjectto subsection (3).(2) The laws referred to in Schedule 5 are hereby amended in the manner set out inthat Schedule.(3) The repeal of the Companies Act, 1973 (Act No. 61 of 1973), does not affect thetransitional arrangements, which are set out in Schedule 7.5Short title and commencement225. This Act is called the Companies Act, 2008, and comes into operation on a datefixed by the President by proclamation in the Gazette, which may not be earlier than oneyear following the date on which the President assented to this Act.10
