This was possible because of the on-site analyses of the wirelinesoil samples, timely electronic delivery of new analytical results to the modeler, and punctual modeling ofthe newly acquired data obtained from the field. A revised model was typically available in the fieldwithin approximately 4 hours after the receipt of new data, enabling field personnel to consider therevised model when selecting new sampling locations. In addition, the close proximity of the wirelinesampler borings to each other, together with the large number of soil samples obtained from each boringand the comparatively small depth increment between samples, yielded an uncommonly dense spatialdistribution of data for modeling. The result is a nearly complete characterization of the extent of TCEcontamination above 100 g/kg in the vadose zone of the investigative area at OU 12.March 2003 5-6 OU 12 Demonstration ReportFinal
