Pathfinder Orange Book Version 2.2.45.3 Operating Instructions5.3.1 GeneralWhen creating a Dossier which has to be universally approved, care must be taken to ensure thatall companies involved in the route are also set up as participants in Pathfinder. Users of Pathfinderand companies which do not work with Pathfinder are represented and treated differently by thesystem.5.3.2 Creating an EXCEL file for universal approvalIn the “Export” data block in the detail view, EXCEL can be selected as the export format.After the “Export Dossier” function has been selected, the Dossier is shown in a new browserwindow as an “EXCEL Container”. This function was designed for use with EXCEL from Version2000 in Windows 2000 or higher. Under the menu item File, this EXCEL document can be savedunder any name in any memory (local hard disc of the user PC or a network drive). The defaultname suggested by Pathfinder is the international train number. Before saving, a query about theserver certificate may come up. This should be answered with “Yes”. The tag selected for the filename should always be “*.xls”.5.3.3 Forwarding the EXCEL fileThe EXCEL file that has been created and saved is forwarded by email by the relevant leading RUto the other participating companies which are not yet working with Pathfinder.These companies make their entries directly into the EXCEL file and send the EXCEL Dossier backto the leading RU.5.3.4 Attaching an EXCEL DossierIn the “Attachments” data block, EXCEL Dossiers can be added to the Pathfinder Dossier.By using thebutton, the required Dossier can be searched for in a particular memorystore and assigned. Only files ending in “*.xls” are accepted. A comment can be added to anyDossier attachment. When thebutton is confirmed, the EXCEL file is attached to theDossier.An attachment can be deleted again by using the icon.A maximum of five attachments is permitted per Dossier.5.3.5 Working with Dossier attachmentsThe attachment is opened by selecting the link to the file name of the attachment.A Dossier is printed out or processed manually by opening it and editing it.December 2010 Page 39 of 133
