On the Site Content Type Gallery page, click the Create button.6. On the New Site Content Type page, enter Template Part <strong>in</strong> the Name field.7. Select Document Content Types from the drop-down list labeled Select Parent ContentType From.8. Select Form from the drop-down list labeled Parent Content Type.9. Under the Group section, select the Exist<strong>in</strong>g Group option and select Document ContentTypes.10. Click the OK button.11. Select Start ➤ All Programs ➤ <strong>Microsoft</strong> <strong>Office</strong> ➤ <strong>Microsoft</strong> <strong>Office</strong> InfoPath <strong>2007</strong>.12. In the Gett<strong>in</strong>g Started dialog, click Design a Form Template.13. In the Design a Form Template dialog, select the Template Part option.14. Select Blank from the List View labeled Based On.15. Click the OK button.16. Select File ➤ Save from the ma<strong>in</strong> menu.17. Save the blank template part to your desktop as BlankPart.xtp. You are go<strong>in</strong>g to usethis as the template for the content type you created earlier.18. Return to the home page of the <strong>in</strong>tranet site.19. Select Site Sett<strong>in</strong>gs ➤ Modify All Site Sett<strong>in</strong>gs from the Site Actions menu.20. On the Site Sett<strong>in</strong>gs page, select Site Content Types from under the Galleries section.21. Click the l<strong>in</strong>k for the Template Part content type.22. On the Site Content Type page, click the Advanced Sett<strong>in</strong>gs l<strong>in</strong>k.23. On the Advanced Sett<strong>in</strong>gs page, select the option to Upload a New DocumentTemplate.24. Click the Browse button.25. In the Choose File dialog, select the BlankPart.xtp file and click the Open button.26. On the Site Content Type page, click the OK button.Once you have created a new content type with a blank template part, you can use it <strong>in</strong>a library. Creat<strong>in</strong>g a template parts library is a good idea because it allows template parts to beaccessed by form designers throughout the enterprise. This approach saves a lot of time andensures a consistency across all forms.
