As part of preparing the form, InfoPath publishes it to a network location of yourchoosing so that it can be accessed by the SharePoint administrator. Figure 6-16 shows thePublishing Wizard set to prepare a form for administrator approval.Figure 6-16. Preparing a fully trusted form for approvalOnce the form is prepared, it may be uploaded to the central repository. This is accomplishedthrough the Central Administration web site. On the Application Management tab,under the InfoPath Forms Services section, click the link titled Manage Form Templates. Thiswill display the forms stored in the central repository and allow you to upload new forms. Duringthe upload process, you can even have the form validated for errors before it is added tothe repository.After the form is added to the central repository, you may use the drop-down menuassociated with the form to make it available to a site collection on the farm. Selecting Activateto a Site Collection from the menu will bring up a page where you can select the sitecollection where the form will be deployed. Clicking the OK button deploys the form into alibrary named FormServer Templates. This library is not visible from within SharePoint, butyou can see it if you open the site in the SharePoint Designer. The point, however, is that onceit’s deployed, you can reference it as a template for a content type within the site collection.Using the Document Conversions ServiceThe Document Conversions Service in MOSS allows you to convert between different types ofdocuments within a library. For example, you can easily convert from a Word document to aweb page using the out-of-the-box capabilities. Initially, this service is disabled on the farm

Therefore, you’ll have to do a little configuration to get it running.Follow these steps to configure the Document Conversions Service:1. Log in to the Central Administration site as a farm administrator.2. In the Central Administration site, click the Operations tab.3. On the Operations tab, click the link titled Services on Server under the Topology andServices section.4. On the Services on Server page, click the Start link next to the Document ConversionsLoad Balancer Service.5. On the Services on Server page, click the Start link next to the Document ConversionsLauncher Service.6. On the Launcher Service Settings page, select the Load Balancer server as VSMOSS.7. Click the OK button.8. Click the Application Management tab.9. Click the link titled Document Conversions under the External Service Connectionssection.10. On the Configure Document Conversions page, make sure that the web applicationreflects the intranet site collection you created in Chapter 2. If not, use the drop-downmenu to change the web application.11. Select the Yes option under Enable Document Conversion for This Site.12. Note the available document conversions that ship with MOSS are listed on the page,then click the OK button.Once the Document Conversion Service is up and running, it’s a simple matter to convertdocuments. Navigate to any document library you created earlier in the book that containsWord documents. You should now find that a conversion option is available from the dropdownmenu associated with the document. When you select this menu item, you will be takento a page where you can specify the name for the converted file, where it will be located, andwho to notify. It’s important to note that the target site must have the publishing feature I discussin Chapter 5 activated in order to receive the new document. Figure 6-17 shows the newmenu item for converting a Word document.
