<strong>Class</strong> <strong>Notes</strong>1973–1975president of Environmental Resolutions,an environmental engineering firm inMt. Laurel, N.J.Paula Gaber McNulty had a busysummer indulging her creative side.Despite never acting before, she starred ina two-person play, Love Letters, by A.R.Gurney. The performances raised almost$20,000 for two local charities. Paula alsoattended “singing camp” for a week atSwannanoa Gathering near Asheville,N.C. Ordinarily she spends her time inIrvington, Va., near Chesapeake Bay, orNaples, Fla., and is involved at the boardlevel with several national and localcharities and community groups.Caron Anderson endured a twomonthbout of walking pneumonia thissummer before she was correctlydiagnosed. She expects to be a first-timegreat aunt this April. For Lehigh ValleyAlumni Chapter, she is organizing tripsto Lehigh Valley Zoo and to WinterthurMuseum and Brandywine River ArtMuseum. Caron is also involved withLafapalooza in April at the local no-killanimal shelter, the fifth year the<strong>Lafayette</strong> group will participate.Lester Wurfel hosted a group of PhiDelta Theta brothers and their wives fora 60th birthday party at his beach housein Ocean City, N.J. Ellsworth “Whitey”Whiteman, Jim “Hawk” Roberts,Phil Gocke, and Joel Nemec attended.Ross and Diane Jerome Lambertcelebrated 38 years of marriage. They havethree daughters, Alison (Penn, 2000),Erica (Penn, 2003), and Jillian ’07.Jillian started as field hockey goalkeeperfor <strong>Lafayette</strong> for three years. Dianeenjoys teaching first grade at BeaumontSchool, Devon, Pa. (Ross attributestheir successful marriage to Diane’skeen understanding of 6-year-olds.)Ross is a periodontist and director ofSimply Beautiful Smiles in NewtownSquare, Pa. In addition, he is enjoyinghis second six-year term as a supervisorin Newtown Township, Pa.Scott Spitzer was elected to theboard of trustees of Meals on WheelsResearch Foundation, which is basedin Alexandria, Va. Scott is a technologyand business attorney in a solo practicefocused on midsize businesses, startups,and entrepreneurs. A longtimeresident of Basking Ridge, N.J., hehas served as both mayor and chairof the planning board.I was pleasantly surprised to see asideline interview with Doug Elgin,during the <strong>Lafayette</strong>–Lehigh game. Hewas on campus for his induction intothe Maroon Club Athletic Hall of Fame.Doug lives in the St. Louis area and hasbeen commissioner of the MissouriValley Conference for 23 years.Sue Miller McDonnell receivedthe American Association of EquinePractitioners’ George Stubbs Award inNovember. The award recognizesa non-veterinarian who has madesubstantial contributions to equineveterinary medicine. Sue is an adjunctprofessor at University of Pennsylvania’sNew Bolton Center and foundinghead of the center’s Equine BehaviorProgram. Through her research, Suehas contributed to the understandingof equine behavior, physiology, andwelfare. Her pioneering work inreproductive physiology has resultedin proven methods of resolvingproblematic behavior in horses.In addition, Sue’s courses at Pennplay an integral role in educatingveterinary students about clinicalanimal behavior, reproduction, andequine patient handling.Bruce Skinner died in July 2010.Our condolences to his family.1974Edward K. He is studying for histaekwondo green belt and enjoys CubScouts, camping, and fishing. DaughterHannah, 6, also participates in the giftedprogram. She loves dance—includingballet, tap, and jazz—and plans to addhip hop to her repertoire. Hannah alsoplays soccer and studies taekwondo.John leads a program at his children’sschool to increase involvement of fathersand other role models. The nationalprogram is WATCH D.O.G.S. John alsovolunteers at a local food bank, workswith his church’s family life committee,coaches soccer, and serves as cubmasterof his son’s pack.Peter Zwart recently announced hisretirement. However, it will be shortlived,because he plans to return to theworkforce this year. Peter and his wife,Eileen, live in Houston, Texas.Moore Industries International Inc.promoted Gary Prentice to nationalsales director. In his new position, Garyfacilitates the company’s growth andmaintains its leadership position in thedesign and manufacture of electronicmeasurement and interface instrumentsfor process industries.
