Other Council devised schemesOther Councils have devised schemes to raise money such as a raffle, for which Communitygroups sold tickets and were able to take a contribution of takings. This has been successfulover a number of years in South Gippsland but interest has tapered off in the last few years.5. Employment of a fund raiserSome large projects in regional Victoria have in the past been funded through employing acommunity fundraiser. Revenue from secondary enterprisesRevenue can be raised from commercial enterprises associated withthe development of infrastructure, or on adjoining sites.These commonly include land for commercial / retail outlets, licenses for private operatorsproviding selective food and beverage services, program operators such as personaltraining, tennis academy etc., or leases for mobile communication towers.In <strong>Aireys</strong> <strong>Inlet</strong>, these are not likely to be major contributors of funds for land purchaseor capital costs. Opportunities for these enterprises may be pursued to generatesome revenue for operation but the gym facilities recommended are communityscale not commercial and the size and capacity of the facilities is very small.7.
