Jiva mixes with the Supreme Soul, just as the river mixes withthe ocean.Close your eyes and meditate. Open your heart to theinflow of the. invisible power. You will find in the Bible:"Empty yourself, I will fill thee." Then you will haveabundant super-intuitional knowledge which is beyond thereach of the intellect. Just as the water freely flows when thetap is turned, so also divine wisdom will flow freely when theobstacles of ignorance that stand in the way of knowledge areremoved. You will get flashes, glimpses of the divine, inspiration, revelation and intuition. You will have to putyourself in a state of quietude by silencing all bubblingthoughts and emotions and connect the mind with the sourceby withdrawing the mind from sensual objects, just as you doin telephone by turning the switch off and connecting the twopersons who want to speak. All duality is of the mind. The whole world of duality iscaused by the imagination of the mind. If all imaginations arewithdrawn into the mind itself by constant practice ofdiscrimination, Vairagya (dispassion), Sama (serenity), Dama(self-restraint) and Samadhana, you will not experience dualuniverse. The mind will be no mind. As it has nothing tocognise, it will rest in the source, the Atman.Man sometimes says: "My mind was elsewhere, I did notsee; my mind was elsewhere, I did not hear;" for a man seeswith his mind and hears with his mind. The attraction for objects and the ties of various sorts makethe man bound to this world. Renunciation of all attraction forobjects and breaking up of the ties constitute real Sannyasa. That Sannyasi or Yogi who is free from attraction and tiesenjoys Infinite Bliss, Supreme Joy and Eternal Bliss. The mind should be absorbed in the word OM (Pranava). That Yogi or Jnani whose mind is absorbed in OM has no fearwhatsoever. He has reached the goal of life.THE MYSTERIOUS MIND 55
