Distillationof lavender spikes (283.5 kg) was demonstratedin 3 batches to farmers of village Pritmas, Distt.Chamba (H.P.) and 2.58l of oil was produced withan average yield of 0.91%. Distillation of 149 kgfresh leaves of E. hybrida to produce 1.50l oil with1.0% yield was also demonstrated to 20 farmersat village Ballah. A demonstration was conductedat Society for Technology & Development,Technology Resource Centre of CAPART atVillage Malori, Distt. Mandi on 11th and 12thOctober, 2010 by distilling Tagetes minuta andArtemisia spp.Demonstration of curcuma and hedychium cultivation in agro-forestry systemCultivation of important medicinal plants like Curcuma aromatica and Hedychium spicatum based onmarket demand in agro-forestry system is likely to augment income and improve socio-economicstandard of the rural community. Therefore, the area under curcuma and hedychium cultivation wasextended in Joint Forestry Management.Demonstration plots of curcuma and hedychium in forestry system were established at 4 locationsof Chamba district viz., Ahla (Dalhousie), Nayagran (Bharmour), Dhargala (Churah), Bagdhar80
