One son, Comfort Ben<strong>net</strong>t, was describedin the County History as the largest land owner within the range <strong>of</strong> five counties.About 1878 during a revival <strong>of</strong> interest in family history, Hannah Breed agranddaughter <strong>of</strong> Abraham 3rd made out a Ben<strong>net</strong>t family record. His farm was located just west <strong>of</strong> BigFlats (<strong>of</strong> Chemung Co.) on the old Big Flats-Corning Road. He married (1)Peggy Burt born on 1 Oct. 1781 daughter <strong>of</strong> Thomas Burt <strong>of</strong> Chemung. She diedon 10 April 1839.
