However, most websites don’tgive the source <strong>of</strong> idioms. Bury the hatchet has an origin rootedin history. Centuries ago, warring Native American tribes buriedhatchets in the ground to symbolize that they had made peace.This chapter’s idioms are about expression, feelings, and actions.a. Don’t sweat it means don’t worry.b. To bury the hatchet means to make peace.c. If something can’t hold a candle to something else, it isinferior to that other thing.d.
