<strong>Appendix</strong> AARTICLE 5IMPROVEMENTS GENERALLYDIVISION 1 - GENERALLYDIVISION 2 - LOTSDIVISION 3 - BLOCKSDIVISION 4 - COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND PUBLIC DEDICATIONSDIVISION 1GENERALLY5.1 Conformance to applicable rules and regulations.5.2 Appropriate for development.5.3 Self-imposed restrictions.5.4 <strong>Subdivision</strong> name.5.5 Plats straddling municipal boundaries.5.6 Monuments.5.1Conformance to applicable rules and regulations.In addition to the requirements established in these regulations, all subdivision plats shall complywith the following laws, rules, and regulations:1. All applicable statutory provisions.2. The <strong>Bedford</strong> <strong>County</strong> Zoning <strong>Ordinance</strong>, building and housing codes, and all other applicablelaws of the appropriate jurisdiction(s).3. The comprehensive plan, official map, public utilities plan, and capital improvements program ofthe county, including all streets, drainage systems, and parks shown on the official map orcomprehensive plan as adopted.4. The special requirements of these regulations and any rules of the health department andappropriate agencies.5. The rules of the <strong>Virginia</strong> Department of Transportation (VDOT) if the subdivision or any lotcontained therein abuts a public street.6. The standards and regulations adopted by the county and all boards, commissions, agencies,and officials of the county.7. Plat approval may be withheld if a subdivision is not in conformity with the above laws,regulations, guidelines, and policies as well as the purpose of these regulations established insection 1.2 of these regulations.5.2Appropriate for development.1. Land to be subdivided shall be of such character that it can be used safely for and properly support,its proposed uses without danger to health or peril from fire, flood, or other menace.
